Too much denim? Never. If there’s anything we learned the past couple years is that the denim on denim trend (a.k.a the Canadian tuxedo) is super versatile and wearable year-round. Here are some street style inspo from our fave babes atm, Gigi Hadid, and Hailey Baldwin.

Gigi Hadid Denim Outfits

Oversized distressed denim jacket paired with a cropped grey mock neck long sleeve and high waisted step up hem jeans in a different wash–ugh, so good. We’re especially digging the matching cream belt & cream sock booties with this look. Mismatched denim? No problem.

Contrary to the first Gigi look, she decides to be more matchy-matchy here, balancing a tiny cropped denim jacket and straight leg denim in the same wash. With a matchy denim look like this, we’re loving the addition of the pops of red and tinted sunnies to make the outfit really stand out.

Changing it up a bit, Gigi steps out in a denim western look cropped button up shirt and high waisted cropped denim. The light washes clash but kind of work in this case, once again proving that denim doesn’t always have to match. We’re loving this outfit for a casual errand day.

Short-shorts in the winter? Yes. Your thighs may be a bit cold, but Gigi proves here that the denim on denim look works even in the cold months. An oversized denim jacket makes layering a thick hoodie and undershirt easy. Keep those legs warm with a thigh-high over the knee boot made for walking.

Another winter Canadian Tuxedo look–hoodie? Yes. Mismatched denim? Oh, yea. Playing up the denim with blue-tinted sunnies? Clever AF. You go, Gigi.

Alright so, we can’t really tell if this is a denim on denim look, but we’re obsessed with this denim overcoat lined with shearling. This jacket will look perf with denim short shorts or even a pair of cropped jeans with booties. Just throwing ideas out here.

Canadian Tuxedo: As Done By Hailey Baldwin

Hailey’s take on the Canadian Tuxedo is a little different than Gigi’s. She opts for edgier pieces with unique detailing and even some sick footwear to spice things up. Here, she pairs classic light wash mid-rise skinny jeans with an extra AF denim trim duster that is to DIE for. Matching the denim wash is key here to keep the look from looking too crazy. The exaggerated chunky roped heels are a dope touch to this look.

When it comes to athleisure, Hailey is the queen. Seen here in an Adidas Canadian tuxedo look, she goes classic with the red, white & blue color coordination and matchy with her accessories.

We’re constantly seeing Hailey doing the lampshading look, and this denim on denim take is no exception. An oversized denim jacket paired with short-shorts and Docs is giving us 90’s vibes all around–right down to the high pony in a scrunchie.
