How To Make Your Summer Jumpsuits & Pants Work for Fall

Written by Elaine Tu

Fall is coming, and you already know we’re getting our ‘fits together for the new season. One of the most troubling things with a season transition is making your summer clothes work for the fall. You know, that period of time where you’re pulling out your sweaters and cardigans from the back of your closet and trying to work them with your summer shorts? No? Just me?

Summer to fall transitional outfits are actually my personal fav. Mostly because I LOVE the fall but also because the milder temperatures make it easier to wear shorts (and not look crazy) or wear a sweater (and not look crazy), or both! We know, crazy right?

Transitioning into fall to us means the return of PANTS, and so many different cuts and silhouettes to really showcase your style. We’re absolutely loving the assortment for the new season, varying from wide leg pants like palazzo pants and culottes, to peg leg pants and tapered paper bag pants! Loving the ankle-grazing look or the flowy wide leg look you’ve worn all summer? These are for you.

Super Flattering Summer to Fall Pants

Our girl’s got it right. Before fall starts, we’re trickling in long sleeves, and you know, still rocking our fav light wash denim–because is there really a season for denim? Easily style your fav jeans with a one-shoulder top and sneakers to go from coffee run to school and more.

Can’t get enough of your matching two pieces? Don’t worry, take the bottoms with you into the fall with a cropped long sleeve or an oversized sweater to make this look a little more fall appropriate with a nautical twist.

TFW the sun hits you just right ?. Red is still trending for fall, and we’re not mad about it. They’re like, stylish pj’s.

Lighter shades are very welcomed to this summer to fall transitional wardrobe. We’re loving this neutral light tan color that you can easily pair with a tube top in the summer, throw on a white collared shirt & blazer for a job interview, or even pair with a knit top for a dressed down and cozy look.

When it starts to get chilly, we’ll be ready with our oversized crop sweaters and these sleek high waisted ankle-grazing pants. The tapered high waist silhouette hugs your curves and cinches you at the waist. It’s a look we love to dress down or dress up with a sexy blouse for happy hour. We’d def dub this a capsule piece.

This fall, we’re totally into high waist paperbag pants (can you tell?). The relaxed fit gives off that dgaf vibe while still looking put together! Khaki hues are very trendy rn and for good reason. These shades can be worn year-round so they’re very versatile. Try a black tube top and heels for a fun night out, or dress them down with your fav tee and sneakers for a more relaxed look! See? Versatile.

Two words: so chic. Gray-toned pants are our latest obsession with all the prints and textures of fabrics for fall we know and love. Find plaid and checks, herringbone & gingham in your fashion journey and wear them well. Another gorg piece that will take you from season to season, these can be paired with a minimal palette, or taken to the max with bright pops of yellow, trendy tartan prints or even try a sick leopard print coat. After all, clashing prints is something everyone should try at least once.

Got a poppy jumpsuit from the summer you just can’t hide away in your closet? Wear it anyway, and throw a graphic tee over to make it more fall-appropriate (and office appropriate). How happy are you that you can wear that showy, cut-out, low cut jumpsuit in so many ways?!

Something for your capsule wardrobe–a white jumpsuit is amazing any time of the year. You can dress it up or down–and pair with any color in your closet. Throw on a chunky cardigan for a cozy wintery look or a moto jacket for going out. Just beware of stains!

Red, red, and more red. That’s what we want for fall. Because we can’t all afford designer or dry cleaning for that matter, try an all red number like this one with a strapless neckline and a flowy wide leg bottom. We think it’s more flattering anyway with a cinched waist and split leg detail so you can show off those new heels you got.

If this doesn’t give you inspo idk what does. Pair your fav white jumpsuit with a leather jacket and mules for an edgy vibe that you can wear to literally anything.

Who wears it better than our Tobi babes? No one. This allover lace jumpsuit is screaming date day and night vibes. It’s that romantic piece you always wanted if dresses aren’t your thing.

We’ve all heard of little black dress, but try a little black jumpsuit instead. This soft cotton material is so comfortable, you’ll feel like you’re in bed. Don’t keep this one inside. It’s a super versatile piece for everyday casual wear. Pair with your fav sandals, sneakers or heels. Don’t forget to layer on the necklaces!

Will you accept this rose? Um, hell yes. Date night vibes, beach vacation ready, brunch with the girls–you name it, this jumpsuit is ready.
